Schedule Notes: 10 PM - 8 AM and 3:30 PM - 11:30
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation & Dispensing
- Accurately and efficiently prepares, labels, and dispenses medications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Resolves questions related to formulary and non-formulary medications, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.
- Clinical Support & Therapeutic Recommendations
- Provides evidence-based dosing and therapeutic recommendations, considering patient age, renal/hepatic function, and pharmacokinetic principles.
- Monitors patient drug therapy for effectiveness, safety, potential interactions, and appropriateness of continued treatment.
- Patient & Staff Education
- Educates patients on medication use, including dosing, schedule adherence, side effects, storage, and interactions with other drugs or supplements.
- Offers pharmacological information and consultation to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
Skills & Competencies
- Accurate and timely dispensing of medications
- Strong knowledge of formulary management
- Ability to interpret and apply pharmacokinetic and age-based dosing principles
- Effective patient and staff communication and education
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy
- 1–2 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist
