Job Description

Our client is seeking a Heavy Civil Estimator with experience in TXDOT projects in San Antonio, Texas. If you have 5+ years of experience estimating civil scopes of work, including highway, earthwork, and underground wet utilities such as mass excavation, fine and rough grading, water lines, storm drainage, and sanitary sewer, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze TXDOT and municipal bid documents, plans, and specifications to fully understand project scope and requirements.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, and structures using Agtek or similar software.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure coverage and competitive pricing.
• Develop detailed estimates including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor components.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals and ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete before deadlines.
• Participate in bid review meetings to discuss risk, constructability, and value-engineering opportunities.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in heavy civil estimating experience
• Proven experience bidding & winning earthwork and underground wet utility projects from $10M- $50M
• HCSS HeavyBid is preferred (Bid2Win or similar software is acceptable)
• Highly organized, detailed communicator, and strong work ethic
